Put one roast in a 6 qt crock pot then sprinkle with dry onion soup mix. Top with one onion quartered, carrots, and potatoes. Cook on high 6 hours our until meat is completely cooked.
I mash my carrots with a fork and put butter on them, mash potatoes with a fork and put sour cream on them, and put salt and pepper on everything! That is the best way to eat this roast...just like my Mama!

This was good but next time I make it I will make the following changes so it is SUPERB!
First Change - 1/2 C ricotta
Second Change - 1 C italian cheese
Third Change - cut pepperoni's into small pieces to equal about 3/4 C.
Fourth Change - Mix everything together and sprinkle top with just a little cheese, then bake.
I think this way might be easier for us to eat. The layers are hard to scoop out and honestly my hubby and I both thought there was too much ricotta and not enough pepperoni.

1- 16 oz bag of split peas
2 carrots peeled and chopped
1 small white onion chopped
1 to 1.5 quarts of water (start with one and if it is to thick I add the other half)
1-2 cups of cubed ham
2 chicken bouillon cubes
salt, pepper, garlic salt, onion salt to taste
Cook on low for 8 hours, stirring occasionally.
