Homemade Pretzels via Husband

1 pkg of yeast
3/4 C warm water
1/2 tsp salt
1-1/2 tsp sugar
2 C flour

Place yeast and warm water in a bowl, stir until yeast is dissolved.  Add salt and sugar.  Stir.  Add 1 cup flour, beat until smooth.  Add the rest of the flour.  Knead on a floured counter for 5 mins. Shape dough into a ball and place in a greased bowl.  Cover and store in refrigerator for 1 hour.

Divide the dough, roll into ropes and shape into pretzels.  Place on a greased cookie sheet.

Optional: Brush top with beaten egg and sprinkle with salt.

Bake at 425 for 12-15 minutes until brown on top.
