A Picnic at the Park

We decided to take our Allie Poodle to the park this weekend.  So I packed us a picnic!

My picnic basket was a gift from my wedding shower and I will say I may not use it much BUT I LOVE it when we go on a picnic.  It had silverware, plates, and cups as well as a cooling area.  So nice and convenient.

I packed:
Shrimp Salad
Candy Corn Cookies
2 Pops and 1 Water (water for Allie)
3 Rolls (1 for Allie)
3 Cheddar Cheese Sticks (1 for Allie)
Wet Wipes

It was a wonderful time and much needed relaxing hiking and eating.

1 Jalapeno, seeds removed and chopped
Shrimp, precooked and chopped
1 Avocado, choppped
Cilantro, chopped (around 1 Tbsp)

Combine all the above and the onion mixture.

I also added salt, pepper, garlic powder, and southwest chipotle seasoning to taste.

I served it cold with Rolls.

How to dry Cayenne Pepper for later use

We decided to dry these so we can use them for our Homemade General Tso's Chicken :)

1. Our Cayenne Peppers

2. Slice in Half and take out seeds.

3. Line pan with foil and place peppers face down.

4. Cook on 175 for 7 hours.
5. Once turning a little brown but in a plastic bag to store.

DIY Flag Banner

This is the tutorial I followed.  The only thing I did different was I made a paper pattern to cut out flags so I didn't waste any fabric.  They turned out so nice :)  We are excited as we are almost done with crafts for the nursery!

DIY Crib Skirt

Love the idea that it is adjustable so the skirt isn't dragging on the floor when you change the mattress height.
